Henry Pollack, MD – Scientific Principal Investigator

Dr. Pollack is Associate Professor of Pediatrics in the Division of Pediatric Infectious Diseases at NYU School of Medicine and the Director of the Fellowship Program in Pediatric Infectious Diseases. He has directed clinical trials, particularly those regarding the proposed study drug, lamivudine, hepatitis B virus (HBV), and children. He is also Director of the NYC Pediatric Viral Hepatitis Network funded by the Speakers Fund of the City Council which coordinates the care of children with chronic HBV and HCV infection among almost 20 hospitals and community health care facilities in NYC.   As a part of this initiative, he has established and directs Pediatric Viral Hepatitis Clinics in several health care facilities in New York City Chinatown including NYU Downtown Hospital, Gouverneur Healthcare Facilities, and Charles B Wang Community Health Clinic.  Dr. Pollack is also a founding member of the NIH-funded NYU Center for the Study of Asian American Health and a Co-Principal Investigator of the Asian American Hepatitis B Project (AAHBP), which is a broad-based, multi-organizational, NYC-wide project to provide screening and immunizations to the Asian-American population.
