Abstract
Recent immigrants from areas of high-to-intermediate HBV prevalence are at increased risk for HBV infection and therefore should be screened and, if infected, monitored/treated. Unfortunately, language barriers hamper efforts to connect these individuals with appropriate healthcare. In this video case vignette of a Vietnamese-American woman and her family, Adrian M. Di Bisceglie, MD, FACP, discusses strategies to ensure effective screening, follow-up, and treatment of non-English-speaking patients.
