Ohio Asian American Health Coalition
Envisioned in 2002, the Ohio Asian American Health Coalition (OAAHC) is an alliance of communities and individuals focused on the health and well-being of Ohio’s Asian American population. The mission of OAAHC is to eliminate health disparities and to achieve health equity for Ohio’s Asian Americans by supporting community research, education, and advocacy.
Legacy Pilot Project: B Strong
OAAHC used the pilot project to strengthen B Strong, an initiative to strengthen statewide efforts by regional Asian ethnic communities to ensure greater access for Asian Americans to hepatitis B education, screening, vaccination and treatment. The aim of the pilot project was to identify and catalog local hepatitis B resources to develop a statewide directory translated into key Asian languages targeting the underserved, high risk, Asian ethnic communities.
