Perry Pong, MD

Perry Pong, MD is the Interim Chief Medical Officer and Director of Medical Affairs at the Charles B. Wang Community Health Center (CBWCHC) in Chinatown, New York.  Dr. Pong was previously the Associate Medical Director of Ambulatory Care Services at Jacobi Medical Center in the Bronx, New York, where he served for 17 years, in roles including senior administrator, teacher and practicing physician.  At CBWCHC, he has helped establish the Diabetes Chronic Care Program, furthered the use of electronic health records to support the Health Center’s clinical reports, and is working to achieve certified medical home recognition from the National Committee for Quality Assurance.  Dr. Pong is active in the Health Center’s partnerships with the Center for the Study of Asian American Health and National Center of Excellence in the Elimination of Hepatitis B Disparities (B Free CEED).  He is a board member of the Chinese American Medical Society and the Chinese American Independent Practice Association, a member of the Metroplus Quality Assurance and Pharmacy & Therapeutics Committees, and an adjunct assistant professor of medicine at the NYU School of Medicine.  He received his BA from Harvard University, his MD from the University of California, San Diego, and completed his residency in Internal Medicine at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center/New York University Medical Center.
